Meet Therin Miller
My name is Therin. I’m a combat veteran who witnessed the horrors of war firsthand—experiences that left me deeply scarred and struggling with PTSD. In an attempt to cope with the pain and trauma, I also developed a porn addiction, which only made me feel more isolated and ashamed. Over time, the weight of War became too heavy to bear, and I found myself at my lowest point, hospitalized for PTSD and suicidal thoughts.
Lying in that hospital bed, I realized I had been bargaining with God my whole life—asking for relief, for an escape, but never fully surrendering my heart to Him. That moment of crisis became my turning point. I decided that I was done negotiating with God. I resolved to trust Him completely, to let go of my own methods of coping, and to believe that He could restore what was broken in my life.
Awaken Ministries was born out of this pivotal decision. My desire now is to share the hope, healing, and freedom I’ve found through genuine faith in Christ. I know the depths of despair all too well, and I also know the transforming power of God’s love. Through this ministry, I want to walk alongside others facing their own battles—letting them know they’re not alone, that healing is possible, and that new beginnings await those who choose to surrender to God’s grace.
